![]() ![]() It's a known problem that Bosch won't acknowledge but seems to be a non-issue in newer models. Plus, it's an older model that develops a smell in it within 24 hrs of running it. Now that all being said, I hate my Bosch because the tines don't fit my dishes very well and I can't get as much into it as my previous Kenmore's. The steam is the way the dishes now dry and if you let all that escape it doesn't have a chance to do it's job. If you are doing this, try letting the dishes dry for a couple of hours in the dishwasher before you open it. As far as your other items, you can't open the door shortly after it runs it's cycle. It's the nature of the beast and the way the manufacturer meets the 'energy savings.' You will always be hand drying them. As far as the drying, it is a fact that without a true heater element in the dishwasher that plastic does not dry. My friends who had soft water conditioners did not have a problem. It didn't matter what or how much detergent I used. I use to live in another state with hard water and did not have a soft water conditioner and etching took place on all my glasses. I have a Bosch that I use Finish Powerball Tabs and have absolutely no problem. No response other than a CSR reading me a denial. Their follow through on my detailed demand for payment of the emergency plumber bill for the flood they caused was nonexistent. You would have to consciously work to design a worse CSR system. Took 4 months and 3 visits to get our appliance fixed. They make false promises re follow up and visits and don't live up to them. It took 3 visits and 4 mons to get our appliance fixed. ![]() They can't track parts so you are left in limbo for months. The CSR are terrible on follow through and untrained. The phone system literally hangs up on customers while on hold. Their phone system doesn't work and causes endless delays. The phone CSR people are terrible and caused water damage that they refused to pay for. Our Bosch 300 stopped working at about 13 mon. Repair what we have? Handwash and wait for Bosch? Kitchen Aid dishwasher? Or something else? But to what? (I had so wanted the new Zeolite drying feature from Bosch!) We do not have Miele-knowledgeable service support in our area, or I would get a Miele. Now it seems the wash motor is leaking (says tech support). We normally run 2 loads a day, and I really don't want to go 3 months without a dishwasher, waiting for the Bosch of my dreams! My husband wants to spend the $250 (plus parts) to get our current one repaired, but we've already did that last year (replacing the drain pump). It's on backorder everywhere, and wouldn't you know our dishwasher just leaked water on our floor! (Fortunately, it alarmed and we were nearby to grab towels.) I've been awaiting this moment for the longest time! The moment when I could replace our dishwasher with a Bosch! Due to the pandemic, Bosch dishwasher production is operating below normal (for social distancing on the line within the factory).
